Afterschool Program

Every weekday from 2:30 to 6:00 PM, Operation Sunshine provides girls ages 5 to 13 a safe, structured, and joyful place to land after school. We pick girls up from school, welcome them by name, and make sure every afternoon is filled with learning, growth, and fun.

Our program is organized by grade level so every girl gets the support that is right for her. Each day includes:

• Homework help and tutoring from caring, qualified staff and volunteers

• Daily reading and math enrichment through games, circles, and hands-on activities

• Social-emotional learning that builds resilience, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships

• Health and wellness education covering nutrition, self-care, internet safety, and physical activity including yoga and sports

• Creative activities including art, music, drama, poetry, sign language, and CPR

• Field trips and guest speakers that connect girls to their community and open their eyes to future possibilities

• A healthy snack every day because we know a hungry child cannot learn

At Operation Sunshine, we do not just help girls get through the school day. We help them grow into the confident, capable young women they were created to be.
