Afterschool Programing

Operation Sunshine has been a safe, nurturing home away from home for girls in Pitt County since 1968. We serve girls ages 5 to 13, providing affordable afterschool programming that enables them to grow academically, build confidence, develop strong character, and discover what they are truly capable of.

Our girls receive daily homework help and tutoring, build meaningful relationships with caring mentors, and enjoy enriching experiences that open their eyes to a world of possibilities. Every girl who walks through our doors is seen, supported, and celebrated.

Summer Camp

Operation Sunshine Summer Camp gives girls ages 5 to 13 an enriching three-week experience designed to keep their minds sharp and their spirits high. Our literacy focused program helps girls maintain and build on their academic skills, preventing the summer learning loss.

Our campers explore STEM challenges, create through art and music, stay active with exercise classes, swimming, and tennis, and embark on field trips that broaden their world. Every day is thoughtfully designed to build confidence, spark curiosity, and send girls back to school in the fall ready to shine.
